What we collect
Only the email address you type into the waitlist form, plus the date you joined. We don't ask for your name, age, gender, phone number or location, and this page runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Like most websites, our hosting provider (Brimble) and our network provider (Cloudflare) keep standard request logs, which include your IP address, to keep the site running and secure. Rhoona is for people aged 18 and over, so please don't join the waitlist if you're under 18.
How we use it
To send you an invite to Rhoona when one is available, and nothing else. We won't sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to a newsletter. Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by joining the waitlist.
Where it's stored
In a database in Nigeria, hosted by Brimble. Backups are kept by our hosting provider and may be stored outside Nigeria. Invite emails are processed by our email provider, SendByte, within Africa.
How long we keep it
Until you join Rhoona, ask us to remove it, or 90 days pass after your invite without it being used, whichever comes first. If you join Rhoona, your email moves into your account and the waitlist copy is deleted. If you don't use your invite within 90 days, we delete your email. Our hosting provider keeps short-term backups that are overwritten regularly, so a removed email can stay in a backup for a short time before it's gone.
Your rights
You can ask to see the email we hold, correct it, or have it removed at any time. Under Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023 you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, and under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019 to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Removal requests
Email privacy@rhoona.app from the address you signed up with and ask to be removed. We'll confirm and delete it within 5 business days.
